Paul Thurrott: Letting Kids Use Windows 7 Over Windows 8 Is Like A Child’s AbusePaul Thurrott, one of the famous Microsoft insiders who was critical about the upcoming Windows 8 release and praised Aero has changed his opinion.

Long story short: after playing with Windows 8 for a while, Paul has installed Windows 7 for his kids and realized how horrible (compared to the Windows 8) it actually is. In fact, in the recent episode of the Windows Weekly, he said that allowing your kids to use Windows 7 over Windows 8 is like child’s abuse.

  • I don’t really understand Mr. Thurrot’s point of view; so he’s basically saying Windows 7 is no longer pretty because of the UI? Jeez, doesn’t he know there are TONS of Windows 8 themes available for Windows 7?

    Although yes, there are other huge improvements from Win8 over Win7—he doesn’t mention any of those, he’s only talking about the UI which makes no relevance to me. For me personally, this is the first time I didn’t quickly jump the bandwagon of a new Windows release.
